Rootin Tootin Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I have a pard that has a set of High Gloss SS Vaqueros that need to have a Satin finish on the top of the barrel. Too shinny for him to find the front site quickly, even with a Slick frt site. I saw a set of SS Vaqueros on the wire some time ago that were bead blasted on the frames and top of the barrel. Where can he get this done and about how much should he expect to pay???? Regards.........RT
Garrison Joe, SASS #60708 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Almost any good gunsmith will have bead blasting capability. Is Oglesby's shop close to you? Many machine shops also do this, but they may not want to do the work if they think it requires special licensing or you may not want them to if they don't know how to keep the media out of the action. Good luck, GJ
El Hombre Sin Nombre Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Long hunter does them for like $60. A pard of mine has a set and they look amazing. Way too pretty to shoot even.
August West, SASS #45079 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Johnny Meadows at Camp Verde Gun is set up for bead blasting. He did some on one of my pistols and it came out great! johnnymeadows55@yahoo.com
Santa Fe River Stan,36999L Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Try a gray scotch brite pad. Gives a nice satin finish. Stan
