Watching BiBi

I think it's going to be a lot harder for Barry to let his Islamist buddies get the bomb. There will be a lot more people watching his shady dealing with Iran.

Probably the best Political Speech I've ever witnessed. I pray that POTUS and Lurch got the message.

Couldn't agree more. ;)

He has the same speech giving ability as JFK and Ronnie, in that you WANT to hear what he has to say.

The man is a leader-Wish we had him as ours :excl:

I also agree. Now, for entertainment purposes only, you ought to tune in to MSNBC and listen to their analysis.

Heard it on the radio.

Fantastic speech - historical! Shame to those members who didn't show up in boycott.

Listening to Democratic rebuttal. Dang they're scary opposed to Netanyahu and everything I heard. I'm betting some golf clubs are getting bent. Wonder what room Odummer hid in to watch.

I'm not surprised Fudge wasn't there, she's a shill for Obummer….and she's my congress-person!

Bibi, is great! Wish he was ours!!! ;)

Benjamin Netanyahu for President 2016. I think that he could produce a birth certificate that says he was born somewhere in the U.S.

Read Pelosi's response. There is no level they won't stoop to to embarrass the United States.

I'm ashamed. :(

I watched the video of the speech. I felt that the Prime Minister spoke with the utmost respect, dignity and passion. He gave our current administration far more respect than I personally feel they deserve, and a hundred times more than they gave him.

I have no idea what Washington's endgame is with Iran. Either they are terrified of the consequences of denying them, or they really want nuclear weapons in the hands of someone not at all adverse to using them. Neither of which makes any sense at all.

I've heard the highlights and the response of Chairman Maobama and his sycophantic cling-ons. My reply to them..... "You Can't Handle the Truth!"

I've been there, done that, got the souvenirs, and BiBi introduced head of hammer to head of nail.

Because it was a political speech, I won't comment here.

Actions speak louder than words.

Nancy Pelosi is a Communist. So is Obama, Reid, Schummer and the rest of the Democrat political elite.

I watched like a hawk who applauded and to my dismay the Republican candidate who got the best grade on CPAC, did not smile as he,BN, spoke, had applause and slowly touched his left and right hand together in a sorry make believe clap. His face never cracked a smile, maybe folks from Kentucky are like that. WHY NOT?

I went thru it once again.

I didn't see it as a 'political' speech. I saw it as a person who cares a lot about their country urging other countries to be very weary in negotiating with a terrorist nation....but of course some have played politics with his visit here and shame on them.

Fixed it for ya, Gunner. :)

And I very much agree with ya! ;)

I honestly don't know why anyone would not like his speech today. (except for Obummer) :P

I watched every word of the speech and did not have the sense at any point that it was political. I think it was a person of great perception and a sense of history (and urgency); sort of like Churchill coming here and warning about the iron curtain descending over Europe. Exactly that. And Churchill was right.....in spades. Just as the Prime Minister's speech seemed right. Calling it political seems to me suggest a position somehow in opposition to the factual aspects of the speech, and calling it political is supposed to somehow diminish the importance and relevance and honesty of the speech. It pointed out, with incredible clarity, the smallness of person and character, and the incompetency, of our own politicians, unfortunately many on both sides of the political spectrum.

But other than that, I don't have any strong feelings about it........

In your own words, it pointed out the "incompetency of our own politicians". How is that not a political speech? Of course it is.

Do not misunderstand the meaning of the word political and please don't insinuate that, by identifying the speech as politcal, I am in opposition of the facts. I have always been an outspoken supporter of the state of Israel. I have no problem with Netanyahu addressing Congress and think that those who refused to attend acted as petulant children.

But in my opinion, we are getting into the realm of the old Political Fire more and more here in the Saloon. We are having far too many discussions that are in opposition to Wire guidelines and I like my Saloon to be a place of refuge. I discuss politics on other forums.

That is just my stand. I don't ask that anyone agree, support, or sympathize with it. We all have our own paths.

With what you posted here...100%

Maybe with other threads, but I don't see the addressing of Bibi's speech as "getting into the realm of the old Political Fire more and more here in the Saloon. We are having far too many discussions that are in opposition to Wire guidelines and I like my Saloon to be a place of refuge" - however, as you know with many threads on many subjects politics can creep in....

Like you said though - we all have our own paths ;)

Political speech?? I think not. It sounded like a man trying to save his country from someone who wants to wipe it off the face of the map! It was a survival speech not a political one!

Of course it was a political speech. I went back and read the transcript. My gestalt from doing so is that Bibi is calling for the US to deal with Iran the same way Israel treats the Palestinian Authority. Is it a better course than what the US is doing? For the purposes of the speech, it doesn't matter. What does matter is that if the current US approach is perceived to be better by enough Israelis, it is bad for Bibi's government.

There is an election coming up in Israel (March 17) and a growing "anyone but Bibi" movement. His Likud party has been falling in the polls. This speech was not about convincing the Administration to his point of view, it was about sowing divisiveness by alienating the Administration. By doing so he got standing ovations by the Republic majority in Congress and garnered support of the conservative media machine (FOX, Washington Times, etc). The headlines trumpeting him will act as an endorsement of his government and policies.

So, whether you agree with Netanyahu's message to Congress, or not, take what he said with a grain of salt.
