.22. cal black powder

I have done this on several occasions.

I was shooting Ruger Single sixes and wanted to also shoot BP.

What I did was take .22 long rife rounds.

Pull the bullets with a pair of pliers.

Drop bullet in lead pot as I was not going to use it again.

Filled case with FFFFg Goex leaving room for the bullet.

Now the fun part.

I have a North American Arms .22 cap & ball revolver.

It came with healed .22 cal 30 grain bullets.

The heal fits right in the long rifle case and sits ont he shoulder without dropping in to the case.

Not having a crimp die for .22 and not wanting to make one, I found that if I use plain old white glue, I could put a little around the healed part ot the bullet and sit it in the long rife case.

Once they dried, the would hold up to all the abuse I put them through.

The bullets can be bought separately from North American Arms in the c&b section.

Here's direct link.

This process takes just seconds once you have all the parts on your work bench.
