I thought you Texicans had the death penalty there. One of the things I liked about Texas, No sense at all housing him for the rest of his life....now the appeals start.

Fry that son of a b%^#$@!!!!!

Should be Guilty, next day throw the switch, or get the rope and takem out back of the courthouse. He will waste millions of taxpayer dollars through the automatic appeal process. Then be out on a violation of his rights. Kris and Chad will be the only ones in this case that will have to serve the sentence that was passed on them. He will always have hope of a parole, those boys have lost that.

Not sure why the death penalty was taken off the table. He did receive life without parole. But as Brazos Bill Dupree said, there will be appeals and thousands of dollars waisted on the sorry SOB.

Hopefully a few friendly inmates may express a little justice. Never know, may be no need for any appeals.

it only took the jury 2.5 hours to decide... Way to go Texas! Life with no parole is a mighty tough sentence. He will have years to regret what he did. Lawyers get rich off death sentence appeals and he will get more publicity. He will rot for a long time and be forgotten by the media with this sentence..

What they should do now is take him out in the bush, tie him to a pole and let a Seal sniper finish the job at 1000 yards!

I will tell ya I really like the idea of a firing squad, but nothing we can do to him will even come close to making up for what he did.

I like the idea of compleatly erasing him and any other person convicted of capitol murder, once sentence is carried out....delete them from all government records. For instance birth record and school record and military record and drivers record and anything else we can do to remove them from any awareness or visibility of any kind. Everything they ever did, good or bad, compleatly remove them and request all private business do the same. You want fame from killing someone, you will soon cease to exist in the memory of anyone not directly effected.

How much better off would we be if I said Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold and you said to yourself, "who the heck is that" instead of remembering what they did at Columbine High School. The removal of these folks and any fame they might also hope to achieve would likely help deter the copy cat crimes that this kind of fame tends to inspire.

Something still just doesn't sit right. Was Roush mentally screwed up in his head when he murdered Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield? Apparently not enough to not know the difference between right and wrong. If he wasn't delusional and didn't think Kyle and Littlefield were trying to kill him, why did he murder them? I've no doubt the jury asked those same questions. I just haven't heard why.

I expected him to be found not guilty but ordered to a secure mental institution like John Hinckley was after shooting President Reagan.

For the last 45 years I have been hearing people say: "I am a Viet Nam vet. I could kill someone and get by with it, because everybody knows that we are crazy." The last time I heard it, it was a man talking about how his brother could get away with murder because he had served in Viet Nam.

Now, I realize that you can not serve in combat and not have some emotional and mental after effects. And I realize that everybody has different coping mechanisims.

But that is no excuse for murdering someone. If he really is insane, then we have not executed a crazy person and we have effectively isolated him from the general populace.

If he is not insane, then we have let him off lightly by giving him life in prison.

Didn't Roush use the DA's Office Public Defender group to represent him and to plead his case? Always marginal representation at best. The DA (my opinion) could produce no rational, appreciable motive. I'm thinking the big league defense lawyers didn't want to get dirty on this one; they'd personally lose either way.

I'm surprised Roush did not plead self defense.

I question why these two men, Kyle and Littlefield, would take someone they did not know, claiming ptsd, out to a remote shooting range when, apparently, they were concerned about his stability. Why didn't they didn't just turn around and go back? Having said that, I am not suggesting they were complicit in their own deaths.

Roush apparently had no motive to kill Kyle and Littlefield, other than a paranoid fear that they were going to kill him. Does anyone dispute that or even have another fact-based theory of why? Reasonable sounding or not, such a fear is grounds for self defense, in my view. Roush admitted he killed the two. Why would Roush lie about the motive after admitting these acts of murder?

I don't know. Fact is, this one is strange all around. Roush, of course, will produce a ghost-written book, which may get some publicity.

How would I like to see him die? Certainly not at the hands of a rabid prison population!!! Roush started dying when he killed Kyle and Littlefield.

I have not seen themental evaluation reports of him. I'm sure the jury did.

A jury of his peers found that based on the evidence presented he was capable of telling the difference between right and wrong. That is our system. He waited until Kyle had his back turned and had an unloaded weapon. To me that sounds more like Premeditation. In my view Kyle was the same as an unarmed man with his back turned. This does not represent a "clear and intimate" threat to his life. So that sounds more like a death penelty sentence. He can argue his mental state at his appeals. Too many people today have some excuse for why it is "not my fault" If he is crazy and went to a hospital after he was "cured" would you want him living next door to you? Right verdict........wrong sentence.

My last word on the subject.
