Subdeacon Joe Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 do people buy mounted deer heads? A friend wants to sell her husbands head Ummm......."deer" or "dear?"
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 She needs to check the laws in her state - kinda illegal in some places.
Yul Lose Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 If it's a real nice one sometimes Cabelas and Bass Pro shops will buy them. I was offered a large sum of money onetime for a Kaibab mule deer mount that I have. I found the skull while I was hunting in 1988. 11 points on one side 15 on the other.
Cat Brules Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Place a for sale ad in Craig's List or ask a local trendy nightspot or steakhouse.
Cypress Sun Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 do people buy mounted deer heads? A friend wants to sell her husbands head I've known some women that wanted their husband's head on a platter but none wanted to sell it.
Dusty Morningwood Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 "are deer heads valuable?" To deer!
Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Very valuable. I have access to some especially fine ones. We have securitized them so you can easily have the value in bearer certificates without actually taking possession of the heads. I am letting a few pards in on the ground floor at prices that must be considered a bargain, considering the value of these high-demand items.
Rusty Chains Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Just don't get caught putting a price on her head, law enforcement takes a very dim view of that!
G W Wade Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 not same as mounted heads but you see antler tips selling for 6 to 9 dollars apiece. that alone counts up to some of us !! GW
Big Sage, SASS #49891 Life Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 She needs to check the laws in her state - kinda illegal in some places. Very true, especially in California. Check with your local G & F dept if it is legal to sell the trophy head.
