I was at Gander Mt today looking for a used Marlin Cowboy (wishing search) when I stumbled across a sales guy that said why used?? Marlin is back in production with their Cowboy rifles. They will be released in April........He insisted they were Marlins not Remlins. We went to the Marlin web site, and they were there. Then we talked to Marlin rep and yes in fact it is going to be made again in 18 1/2 octagon initially.........priced at $649..............WOW....I hope this is true........Anybody else heard anything like this...............

18 1/2" octagon?

DITTO.

I try to read the Marlin owners website frequently and haven't heard anything about this. And some of those fellers are Marlin crazy, ifn ya know what I mean.

I have read on that website that some .44 Mags are being produced again. But thats about all I know.

Found this: http://www.americanhunter.org/blogs/Remington-new-products-2015

"Also benefitting from investment in new machinery is the Marlin line. The traditional American-made lever-actions, including the Models 336, 1895 and 1894 are now being made on new tooling, and plans for 2016 call for the return of another favorite—the Marlin 39A .22 rimfire lever-action."

And here is a link to the 2015 Marlin Catalog: http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/75ab19a6#/75ab19a6/5

Ain't the SHOT show going on? Maybe someone will find out something from there.

I'll definitely ask...

Probably won't be able to report anything back until the following weekend as I'm not planning on taking a computer with me this time.

I'll have my phone - but they're only as "smart" as the user...

The hotel we stayed in last time (don't remember the name) you had to pay for wifi/internet usage.

Let me get my high-topped boots out-

Marlin is owned by Remington Arms. That makes then "Remlins" by default. ;)

I won't hold my breath wait'n on any oct. bbl'd Marlin 94--

OLG

Actually Marlin, Remington, Bushmaster, Para Ordinance, and a few others are all owned by the Freedom Group....(big Remington ammo plant keeps this little town here afloat and lots of friends work there lol)

freedom group has been spun off [as in purchased ] by another holding group , that puts remington in control of all of it as in a new remington based name for the entire operation , i will believe the production when i see it - them turning away my order years ago turned me south on them ,

181/2" is a bit short for ten rounds of 45colt isnt it ?

SHOW Show starts Wednesday. If Remlin has any intentions of releasing a new model for 2015, it'll be played up there. They may even have demo models, but it's all vaporware until the wholesalers get them. I'll keep my ears open and try to find out what information I can. My company always sends a buncha people to SHOT (never me  ) and they hit the big names and many of the smaller ones too. Most of them work out of a different office in an entirely different State and I don't really have any dealings with them, but if I can pull some strings I will.
