Why did the MT Champ move?

Why did the MT Champ move?

Well it boiled down to the club members not wanting to do it for a few years. It's a lot of work putting on a big shoot ( as you know) and I think a lot are just flat burned out and want to take a break. We've been hosting the State shoot since the late 90's with a one year exception when another club hosted it and it was from what I heard a disaster. So we took it on the following year and have been at it ever since. No other club in the state other than Big Fork has the facilities to put one on. Billings could, but I hear the other clubs at the Gun club they're part of don't like CAS there to start with. The new club (2 years old) is close to Great Falls where there are RV parks, hotels and motels, plenty of places to eat and there is dry camping space for some at the range. Everyone in the new club , the Black Horse Shootists, are also long time members of the Sun River Rangers (Simms club) so it's not like they won't know what works and what doesn't. The range is still a work in progress and it'll mean temporary fronts instead of a town like Simms has. By 2016 there should be a full town there. It'll be a 10 stage shoot this year, but by 16 it'll have all the bays and berms done and will be a 12 stage shoot then. Come on over and try it out.
