I have one in 40 and really love it BUT considering a 9mm mag and barl for it. Some of the new 9mm loads are simply fantastic! In the end I am carrying a Shield much of the time, it is half way between the S&W Compact and the tiny Kahr .380.

Guys I have one of these and it has taken over as my walk in the country gun (formerly a 1911). I carry mine tucked behind the right hip in a custom kydex clip on IWB and for me it actually conceals under a heavy cotton T very well. An excellent gun at a good price, I guess Christmas is causing fokes to hesitate??? For those who might doubt the 9mm in a concealable weapon, watch a few of the tests this guy is performing.

It is not about one caliber being better than another either, I own and carry many calibers but now know that I have many options. Please Deuce, do not drop that price again I might end up in a divorce if you do!

PS: The Compact model will also accept factory magazines from the full size and PRO models. With a competition foot extension one can get well over twenty rounds in the magazine. Who needs a pistol caliber carbine!!!

Frankly, I think you may want to hold on to it. While there are times that I carry my LCP, I carry my 9mm Shield or Kahr PM9 much more often. That LCP is evil to shoot and only a .380. While .380 ammo has come a long way, it is far less effective than current 9mm defense ammo. At the range the 9mm is far more comfortable to practice with than that snappy LCP.
