Celt
A review is up on this rifle on Guns America for those with an interest in it: http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/winchester-model-1873-cowboy-rifle-new-gun-review/ Includes some handload testing and results, so better than just the usual cursory review. Marauder SASS #13056
Thanks! Twas interesting to read about the problem with 38 Special loads. Look at the photo towards the bottom that shows the jammed 38's. It is obvious why. The bullet was too far into the brass. Was it not properly crimped? With longer 357 Mag brass, the gun will probably cycle with wad cutters, but you need a long enough cartridge to act as a good cartridge stop or the rifle will jam every time.... The Original Lumpy Gritz
Agree- serious lack of good crimping on the .38 loads. Also-load the .38 to a COAL closer to 1.600" and they should run sweet. OLG
