Cemetery
I'm thinking of getting a brace of pistols in .45 colt. Anybody use Colt Clones that are feed a steady diet of full house loads of black? Do the Colt Clones hold up? I know about Rugers, and a brace of Colts might be too much $$$$ for me. Cheatin' Chamberlin
My Smokewagons have held up fine to full loads of 44/40. Used them in the King of Kaboom class down in Fort White earlier this year. Had a BLAST!!! Cheatin'
Rye Miles #13621
+1 on the Smoke Wagons, also have a pair of Cimmarons that hold up good with a full load of BP in a .44-40. BP doesn't have the pressures that smokeless has. Don't forget these type of firearms were designed in the age of BP. I'm not sure that original Colts used any better steel than Uberti does today. Cowboy Rick, SASS #49739L
When these guns were designed, the factory load was close to 40gr. Should be just fine with our 35gr "Warthog" pills CR
