Sedalia Dave Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 You can't make this stuff up. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/18/us/politics/biden-drawing-on-his-past-expresses-common-cause-with-activist-nuns.html?_r=0 Shotgun Joe is still sparing with the Pope over how the Vatican views these Nuns activities.
Badlands Bob #61228 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Maybe the Nuns will ride Joe around in the bus for the next 2 years.
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Why can religion interfere with the government but the government can't interfere with religion? Just asking a question, not trying to start a fight.
Sparky Nelson Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Why can religion interfere with the government but the government can't interfere with religion? "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." Of the rights listed in the First Amendment, freedom of religion is the first. So it's pretty clear the government has to keep their mitts off.
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I KNOW THAT!!! Why isn't it reciprocal? What business does ANY religion have involving itself in ANY government?
Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Shotgun Joe is still sparing with the Pope over how the Vatican views these Nuns activities. Political pandering to people PO'd about papal politics.
