Cart-right gun carts

Recommended Posts

I have 2 Cart-right gun carts for sale, a 4-gun model and a 6-gun model. They're both in great shape (if you're familiar with them, you know they're a durable design), although they've seen a lot of use-- my wife and I had a lot of kids in the house at one point (there was one 3-day match we went to where we took all 6 kids!). The kids have moved away, and we now have a Rugged Gear cart for the 2 of us, so we don't need these. Each includes the hardware for attaching a beach umbrella (although I don't have the umbrellas), and the hardware for attaching a cooler (and I have a cooler for each). Each also comes with 2 heavy canvas L.L. Bean tote bags, one for holding the horizontal pieces of the cart, and the other for holding the wheels, axle, and other hardware. And I have cut and taped together some big pieces of cardboard to hold the big vertical pieces of each. The design makes them easy to assemble or disassemble, and they break down into very small packages for transportation (which worked great for us when we had a minivan and 6 kids).

Shipping might be a problem because of the wheels, etc. So I would want the buyer to pay shipping.

If I remember correctly (and I'm not sure I do, as it's been a while), these were around $300 or $400 apiece when new, and they are no longer being made. I'm asking $50 apiece for starters, plus shipping. If anyone wants to see them and you're in the vicinity of Binghamton, NY this weekend, come to the Showdown, the 3-day shoot at the Tioga County Sportsmen's Association in Owego, NY; I'll be there, and I'll have them offered for sale.

Peacemaker Reb: I'll see you at the Showdown and bring the 4-gun cart (including cooler). Heck, you could use it this weekend, as far as that goes.

South Pass Kid: Sad to say, I will not be going to Helluva Ruckus.

Mean Bob Mean: I just sent info to Hoseman about the cost of shipping the 6-gun cart to him; if he decides to buy it, it's his, but if not, it will still be available. And as you can see from this thread, Peacemaker Reb is interested in the 4-gun cart. I should have more definite info for you by tomorrow.

Mean Bob Mean: Hoseman decided to pass on the cart (the shipping to where he lives in California, from where I live in Pennsylvania, was more than the asking price for the cart). So it's yours to buy or to pass on.

As for pictures: I did a google search of "pictures of cart-right gun cart", and got pictures of a lot of different types of gun carts. But one, which was identified as the gun cart of a shooter named Tame Bill, is a 6-gun Cart-Right gun cart. The principal differences between it and mine are that it has a seat cushion on the hatch for the lower storage compartment (mine doesn't, but it could be added), and his has a light finish to the wood (mine has a dark finish).

Let me know.

I have one of each of those models

Best carts ever and no more will ever be made.

I based my cart on the Cartright, so they're still being made similar by myself. You can check them out at www.sswdistributors.com or on my Facebook page.

Also cheaper, if you're not successful buying those maybe you will consider buying a new one.

Thanks

Jack

Hi RT,

No I don't have one on the floor as yet, I'm building some and normally to your order, if you let me know what you want.

We haven't been up to OH as yet, normally can bring it to another shoot close by, maybe. I think packing & shipping will be a killer.!!

Depends on how desperate, you are or patient to wait

A couple of people have asked me about photos. I don't have any photos of the carts myself, but I just found a video on YouTube, titled "Cart-right gun carts", that shows Big Sky Bob, the guy who made them, assembling one as it comes out of the shipping box.

I'm back from the big shoot. Here's the update.

Peacemaker Reb thought that my cart was a different brand, so he didn't buy it.

So let me make sure I'm not mis-leading anyone: look at the YouTube video titled "Cart Right Gun Carts", and you'll see Big Sky Bob, who identifies himself in the video and who made these carts (and who has since passed away) showing you how to assemble one of these 4-gun carts. My carts are identical except that one is a 6-gun cart, and their handles are a different design (simpler), and they each have a shelf to put a cooler on the cart (and if it doesn't complicate shipping too much, I'll send a cooler with each cart). I modified the attachment for a beach umbrella, because the original design didn't work very well for me; my modification worked much better. I'm not sending an umbrella with either cart, but similar umbrellas are readily available (and commonly used on lots of other carts).

Hoseman already passed on buying one, because it would cost too much for UPS to ship it from me (in PA) to him (in CA). But Peacemaker Reb suggested I could ship cheaper if I shipped freight. That would mean, though, that I would have to package the carts myself, contact a shipper to get an estimate of shipping based on the size and weight of the package (or packages), then drop it off at a freight depot for shipping; and of course, the buyer would have to agree to pick it up at another depot (rather than door-to-door service). Obviously, it would be simpler if I could sell them to someone where shipping was not so complicated (or expensive).

South Pass Kid: you have the next right of refusal. I'm not going to Heluva Rukus, but if you'd like, I could send one of these carts up to Heluva Rukus with a friend of mine. Do you want me to arrange to do this? And if so, which one would you be interested in?

Mean Bob Mean: you have the next right of refusal after South Pass Kid. Where do you live?

One other party contacted me by personal message about buying one of these carts (I won't say who, because it was a personal message), so that person has the next right of refusal after Mean Bob Mean, if there's still one left.

I hope everybody follows that. And I hope everyone understands I'm not trying to pull any fast ones, just trying to represent the merchandise accurately, and then give everyone their right of refusal based on the order in which they contacted me.

Whew.

Howdy Al,

Wish I had seen this thread before going to the Showdown, but..... Anyway if either of the two carts are still available and your friend can bring it to the Rukus, I would be VERY interested.

BTW it was a pleasure shooting with you.

I apologize for the delay in updating this thread. Things have been busy around my house lately.

And I hate to disappoint anyone, but I haven't been able to get the time to check on freight shipping on these carts, and I don't think I'll be able to do that any time soon. Too many other things going on in my life right now. So if a cowboy shooter who lives near me and is going to Heluva Rukus can take the carts there for me (I'm not going to that shoot myself), then South Pass Kid can buy the 4-gun cart, and Dutch Cassidy can buy the 6-gun cart. I've been getting a lot of personal messages on these carts, as well, since I started this thread, and I'll try to keep everyone updated on this thread (rather than sending out individual messages to everyone).

I also don't want to force anyone to do anything, so if South Pass Kid and Dutch Cassidy decide NOT to buy either (or both) of these carts, then I'll update this thread to reflect that. Thanks for everyone's patience.
