HEY GUYS WANT TO THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONCERNS OF THE COWTOWN RANGE, IT SEEMS THAT THIS POST MAY BE MISLEADING AS A FUNDRAISER AND I WANT SASS TO BE QUITE AWARE THAT I DID NOT SUPPORT ANY FUND RAISING. I APPRECIATE ALL YOUR CONCERNS AND DESIRES TO HELP BUT THIS WIRE POST SEEMS TO BE AGAINST THE SASS RULES FOR USING THE WIRE AND WE DO NOT WISH TO MAKE A PROBLEM WITH OUR FRIENDS AT SASS. SO PLEASE REFRAIN FOR MAKING THIS APPEAR AS A FUND RAISER. I AM PERSONALLY OVERWHELMED WITH THE SUPPORT YOU ALL HAVE FOR THE RANGE AND WE WILL PRESS FORWARD IN GETTING THE RANGE UP AND RUNNING. SO THANK YOU ALL FOR CARING. SEE YA ON THE RANGE. BARBWIRE

111° today it was brutal! We managed to get 5 stages up and running. The other 5 to 7 will come at a much slower pace ( complete rebuilds). Tractor and 20 helpers today! Did I mention it was 111° today! !!!!!

Well folks, the volunteer labor was out there, working again today, 111 degrees. :o ---

They salvaged parts of some stages and put them back together but no more materials to build with and I think they are still way short on targets to finish new stages.

Lots of the range equipment was never found -- got washed down stream or buried. :(

Seems like maybe it has gone about as far as it can without an infusion of money for materials.

We are not going lose this shooting range!

Your donations and the army of volunteers are going to put the Cowtown Shooting Range back together! :)

Many thanks from everyone for all your generous donations. :D keep'em comin' :D

Info sent to help out. Has anyone contacted the steel, shooting steel manufactures like Action Target, MGM etc and see if they will donate, sale at reduced price or rent you steel until the range can pay for it once the repairs have been made. Also did the governor declare the area of the range as a disaster area? If so the donations may be tax deductible for the ones who help out. Check into it. I don't know what I could donate to add to the raffle I have a case of 30-06 military ball ammo, if you think a 100 rounds or so would help let me know. This USA surplus ammo maybe as far back as the 80s.

Hi folks just a little update on the Cowtown range, it has taken a lot of effort over the past couple of weeks to dig out what was left but due to the efforts of a lot of great cowboys and cowgirls, we will be on schedual for this week to have a Saturday wild bunch match and follow on Sunday with a cowboy match due to heat start time will be 8 am. we have saved 5 actual stage fronts set with steel and ready to work. will utilize them and work on getting the other 6 rebuilt. thanks to all the folks and the labor with couple extra cudo's for Hell' Comin & Dog on It along with Zona who put in a bit more time this weekend running a tractor and move the balance of debre out of the way so we can get started on a new season. looking forward to seeing all of ya on the range. thanks s very much for all your support in helping get us back together. Barbwire

Yep, they got five of the eleven stages salvaged. Took Herculean effort of an army of hard working volunteers. :)

The other 6 stages are gone and the donations are going to help re-build them! :D Thanks a lot folks! :):)

We probably need to think about replacing the fences and gates pretty soon ---- to help keep things that are there there. ;) - currently pretty much open to anyone who drives by ;)

(Lots of costs, $900. just for the tractors! )

Well hope the range makes it through it this time. Any way to dig a trench to divert the flow around the range instead if through it? From what I read on another thread the governor declared it a state of emergency so the range should be able to get help money wise from the government plus with all the donations hopefully it will be enough to handle the heavy stuff and materials then volunteers for the labor. Don't give in, we can't afford it.

Wish we could come help work but Arizona is a long way from East Tennessee, so in lieu of working hands we plan to pass the hat this Saturday at our monthly match. Keep up the hard work and good luck. See you all down the trail sometime. Hopefully the range will be fixed by Lady T's and my next trip to the great state of Arizona.

Sleepy there is additional damage to the stages. The Livery front is missing and the hotel was under cut by the raging flood waters. We actually held a match on Sunday, in b the shooters meeting Barb wire announced they where going to move the stages back, probably going to happen sooner than later now.
