Cowtown this week sustained heavy damage from the normally dry wash. The water came out of the wash and was running wall to wall through the canyon! ! Hopefully we can get things back in order this year. Would post pictures and videos if I knew how. For example the water cut a cross the road a 6 foot deep x 30 foot wide hole in the parking lot, had to walk over to the range!!

I was wondering if we had any damage.

My last day of work is Sept 5th. I can be available after that to help, if needed. I will bring a shovel.

5" of rain in the surrounding area, all in one storm and in a few Hours. One area had 1" of rain in 14 minutes.

Typical good old Monsoon like we had in the 1960's , not unusual here in the Sonora Arizona desert.

Low pressure in California, High Pressure in New Mexico and lots of moisture in Northern Mexico. Result is a moisture pump North to Arizona.

We can still have several more days of this activity

Block the water and call it a Pirate shoot...

Wow! What a pitiful and tragic mess. I shot my very first Cowboy Action match there many years ago. My Daughter, Panhandle Pam, shot there for a number of years, till health problems forced her to quit. Hope they can get it back together soon.

Cottin pickin Photobucket is acting up again and will only let me post one photo at a time. So, I will edit this post and add a few more photos.

First, the "main" road into Cowtown.

Three stages use to be here.

Lots of targets went to places unknown. Here is one on the creek bed. There's at least three more just barely sticking out of the creek bottom.

One stage gone, another not in good shape.

Going back and forth to Photobucket is taking to long so this is the last photo unless I can figure out what's wrong.

Az pards sorry for the damage that Mother Nature gave you. I've never had the pleasure to shoot there, but do want to. Maybe it's time for an upgrade.

I'm heart-broken to see such devastation. I loved shooting at Cowtown and was looking forward to one more shoot before heading to the east coast. We met some of the best people ever there.

Mother nature in the desert. Heard of stuff like this, them pictures really show only glimpses. But thats bad stuff. Wish I was closer to come and help.

A shovel is a D1. Sounds like you folks need a D9 and a huge backhoe. Plus, you might have to go ten miles downstream to get your dirt back. Sounds like a monumental task ahead of you. Unless I'm just missing something, "endeavor to persevere" is an understatement in this case. Are all your storefronts still there? Is the range itself still there. Are your targets, stroage facility and outbuildings intact?.

4 stages completely gone, 3 look dangerous & 3 need work. Looks like 50% of targets are buried or washed down stream. Heavy equipment coming in tomorrow to repair main road, at this time there's no way to drive to the cowboy range. I feel really bad for Duane, this has really hurt him ! He's been care taker at Cowtown for along long time! Very nice Gentleman !
