Kirkpatrick holsters history?

American Sales or Kirkpatrick or were they both the same?? Some several years back I purchased a simple buscadero belt and holster stamped American Sales And Mfg Co - Loredo Tex.it seems to have some relationship to Kirkpatrick. Searches on Google have only provided a small amount of the relationship. Were they actually one and the same from the beginning or simply just an acquisition of one company by another. I did find an old add that showed American Sales as the company name on top with the Kirkpatrick name at the bottom. Kirkpatrick does not give any reference to the link on their site and I can find anything indicating that they use or still own the name American Sales any longer. Any old timers know how the link played out?

Here is a link to the belt and holster rig this relates to, sorry I could not figure out how to do an actual photo on here!

I don't know about the history, but I have owned one Kirkpatrick rig and it was identical to the one you linked to, except mine had a straight belt, not the buscadero/drop loop. Kirkpatrick calls it the Range Rider and my holster looked more like yours than what they currently picture on the web site.

Kirkpatrick shows a rough-out belt and a holster with a wider back skirt than yours, but mine was exactly like yours (except for the drop loop), with a smooth belt and narrower skirt. If you are looking for a matching left-hand or crossdraw holster, they quoted me $135 for one.

Actually I will be trying to sell this in the end as we are downsizing big time on an upcoming move. Hoped to find out that it was some sort of missing link and worth a grand fortune first. :D Afraid my old time collection is turning out to be worth way less than I paid for them though! :(

The person to ask would be the Kirkpatrick Kid, but he is not active on the wire and I do not know who would have contact info for him. He used to shoot the SW Regional, but I personally haven't seen him in years

I have a pair of long hunter 09 holsters in plain black I wanting to buy used a pair in brown but they're the only CAS holster I have or plane to buy. I'll make my own if it isn't their lh09 holsters. I did buy a evil Roy rig for WBAS but I never plan to buy anything else from that company I'll make mine own if I ever shoot WBAS again.

I've been using a Kirkpatrick "Tequila" rig for 7-8 years now. It's holding up great and I shoot 3-4 times a month! Great stuff!
