Old Scatterbrain Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 A Ford with four engines, so that at least one of them is running?
Blackwater 53393 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 A Ford with four engines, so that at least one of them is running? NOPE!! It takes the other three to get the one that moves it started!!
Blackwater 53393 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 TV Tommy Ivo built a four engined Pontiac station wagon thirty or forty years ago! If I recall correctly it had superchargers on it! I saw it a few years ago at the US Nationals at Indy. All four engines ran well and it smoked all four tires as it made a pass!!
Tom Bullweed Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 This will never pass an emissions test for the annual state inspection!
Shorty Jack Hammer Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 That's a high tech 1-2-3-4 eco friendly race car... It just adds more engine power as you need it :/

Boon Doggle Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 They tried to do it with a Camaro, but they couldn't find a starter switch that hadn't been recalled.

If I recall correctly it had superchargers on it! I saw it a few years ago at the US Nationals at Indy. All four engines ran well and it smoked all four tires as it made a pass!! It was in 1961 and he built 2 of them. One was a dragster and the one you mentioned was a forerunner to funny cars. I saw them both run at Long Beach. It was before NHRA allowed fuel and everything had to run on gas. The one thing I did notice on the Mustang that was a little different, the rear 2 engine were backwards. Their flywheels (or where they should be)were in the front, so all the engines were inputting their power midship.
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 At about $4.00 a gallon for regular that rig is gonna cost a fortune just to get you to market and back..... and I'm betting it won't run on 87 octane.
