Poet Jones 99980 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Ya know that Herb crusher from the "what is this antigue?" post got me thinkin'. Why can't us SASS cowboys have their own state. I mean official like. Colorado seems to be our best bet. Liberal laws and very happy people. I wonder whut their gun laws are like. Of course we could change em. Nice weather most the year and you can use yer Indian Herb Grinder to your hearts content. Also they have great healthcare...even better than South Fl.
DocWard Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Utah Bob would get a little antsy with too many new neighbors.
Utah Bob #35998 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 And if you want liberal laws and herbs, you're forgetting the great state of Washington. Except for some foolish laws on mag capacities and backgrounds passed, Colorado has very good gun laws. You can carry a concealed gun in your vehicle without a permit if you want. CCLs are shall issue, and done by county sheriffs. Just like Florida is not Miami and Texas is not Austin, Colorado is not Denver or Boulder. Our county does not allow marijuana shops, that is a decision left up to local government. But if you want to move here from south Florida, come right ahead. I did.
Big Sage, SASS #49891 Life Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Already do have a Cowboy state......Wyoming.
Calico Mary Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Branch, as long as yu stay outta tha high country during winter there are a lot other places much colder than Colorado..... but this reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw on a truck last night that I told Buick I wanted....."Welcome to Colorado...now GO HOME!!" Only way cowboys kin move in is if 50 Californians (not tha good kind), New Yorkers, and Mexicans agree to leave fer every one that come in.....we'z already waaaay tuu crowded.... ifn' yu kin tolerate wind I'd say Wyoming iz tha better choice....
John Barleycorn, SASS #76982 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Pennsyltucky has a nice ring to it.
Utah Bob #35998 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Colorado? No thanks. Too cold It's 82° right now. I'm sippin a cool glass of Tequila.
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Mary, it don' work. Branch, as long as yu stay outta tha high country during winter there are a lot other places much colder than Colorado..... but this reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw on a truck last night that I told Buick I wanted....."Welcome to Colorado...now GO HOME!!" Only way cowboys kin move in is if 50 Californians (not tha good kind), New Yorkers, and Mexicans agree to leave fer every one that come in.....we'z already waaaay tuu crowded.... ifn' yu kin tolerate wind I'd say Wyoming iz tha better choice.... Mary, the bumper sticker won't work. I reported here recently a memory of a pair of 'stickers I saw on a car near Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco... back about 1971: Welcome to California. Now Go Home! And Take Someone With You! It didn't work so well. That was back when SF had a number of really cool gun shops... I recall a buddy skinning a bear in his driveway on Russian Hill... saw a couple of guys skinning a HUGE wild boar in a driveway in the Marina District... Guard your borders, Folks!
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 We got cold. Well, chilly. But, and there is always that ugly but, it is 69 richt now. And Rain. There is a rain gauge on the side of the main building over at the Quinault Lodge that registers 144 inches of rain a year. We also have crabs.
Utah Bob #35998 Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Uncontrolled immigation will always be a problem in great places!
Calico Mary Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 we got more people in Denver now than there wuz in tha whole state when Buick and I were kids.... Except fer tha wind Wyoming is lookin' awfully gud ta me.....
