Shooting wearing a dress

Don't ask why I wanna know this, but I'm curious if any of you do shoots wearing a dress or skirt (I almost addressed this to just the ladies, but decided not to discriminate). How do you wear your pistols with a dress? Do you just not tie the leg straps, or is there another trick to it?

Did you lose a bet? My rig doesn't have tie downs.

There was a few interesting side matches at the recent Georgia State match and if you wanna see how to shoot in a dress I'll see if I can scare up the picture of Miss Prissy Pants....she/he will show you how to "get it done." :D:P

Just make sure it is not made by Wrangler or made of BLUE JEAN material and you will be ok.

Most rigs don't have or need leg straps.

Corsets aren't a problem once you are in them. It's the getting in and out that's the problem! Not big on bonnets, bees tend to be attracted to them.

This might be the answer. I need the tie downs personally. It messes me up when they come untied. I guess I'll check and see if the missus needs hers.

Sounds like a strategy move to me. Get everyone laughing so hard that they can't shoot straight. Might have to give it a try.

Keep your powder dry

I always shoot in a dress or skirt.....so much more comfortable and easy to make cooler or warmer!! Never have used the leg tie-downs. You should see Autumn Rose, she shoots in a dress with a bustle!!!

Usum B Western Shooters are often called Prairie Fairies ........

I might be convinced to wear a pink cowboy hat and pink shirt.......

But I'll pass on the dress.

Just as a footnote.

One lady put slits in the side of her skirt so she could tie her rig down to her leg.......

Getting ready for Eldorado 'Pink" day, are you Ace? Thank you for passing on the dress part...............

ive not seen folks using tie downs up here , have seen a few with the leather ties but never in use , i have seen a couple fellas in our club shooting in kilts , id not be mentioning anything about skirts and dresses to them however - both good shots and fairly sizable guys - good natured to a point if'n ya know what i mean

Branchwater, I will keep that in mind. But I have one question for you, how do you know this bit of fashion advice?

Ace, never heard B-Western called Prairie Fairies, I'll have to tell my buddy who shoots B-Western. He six foot six and about 250 pounds and a Marine. You want to tag along?

Then you need to watch the movie Rustlers Rhapsody.

Last Saturday, at Comanche Valley Vigilantes, most all of the lady shooters wore dresses. at least the 6 that stayed around for the awards all had very nice long dresses on and shot very well in them.

My wife always shoots in a long dress or skirt.

Hello,

I wear a skirt most of the time. When I don't wear a skirt, I wear a split skirt or big fluffy bloomers.

Regards,

Allie Mo

And you wear them Oh so well!

I have tie down holsters and always wear skirts. I put button holes in my skirts and the tie downs go through the button hole. You have to look to see them when I'm not wearing the holsters.

Never had a problem with my rigs when I shoot wearing my kilt! ;):P
