If anyone calls claiming to be Windows Tech Support, and saying that your computer is sending out viruses. HANG UP! What they do is get you to go to a website and download software to fix the "problem", once you do they have free access to your computer and will go after your personal data. Lorelei Longshot, SASS #44256 Life Posted April 15, 2014 Share Posted April 15, 2014 When they say they are from Microsoft® I either tell them I use nothing but Mac (not true) or ask for their Microsoft® ID number or employee number. That usually gets them. I also threaten to report them as I know this call is SPAM in addition to which we are on the no call list. By then they're usually hung up.
