Sedalia Dave
Have a old MEC 600jr that I have pulled out of storage for loading low recoil shells. Issue is that when de-priming the pin does not want to stay centered on the primer. If I force it it will push out the primer but leaves a grove in the base of the shell. Occasionally it will damage the primer pocket. If I keep playing with it it will eventually center and work correctly. De-capping pin does not appear to be bent. Has anyone else experienced this? Plan on calling MEC but given the vast amount of knowledge here thought I would start here first. My one thought is that the de-capping pin is worn down and is too blunt and sliding off the primer. Back when I was Stationed in Spain I loaded several thousands of AA skeet rounds. So the press has seen a lot of usage. Any Ideas? Thanks
The Original Lumpy Gritz
Just loosen primer pin bolt. Use a case and pull handle down and where the handle is down. re-tighten the bolt. If that don't fix it-The rod is bent. Easy to straighten. Here's more info...... http://www.mecshootingsports.com/ LG
