The Polish Pistolero Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I have a Taurus Thunderbolt Rifle with a feeding issue! It will cycle, feed, and fire twice, then the third round slips past the tab that holds the next round in the mag tube, and jams under the carrier! I need to release all rounds I have loaded from the front of the mag tube to get it cleared. Either is there a fix, or a modification for it, or a Guru that can work their magic on them? Its not my main match gun, but I want it to use on an occasion.
backshootin beauford mcgee Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 sounds like it needs a trip to Ohio to see Lassiter!
Rooster Ron Wayne Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I have NEVER herd of this issue with the Taurus Thunderbolt Rifle. I think the best fix for that rifle would be to take a brass hammer and a brass punch. Knock the front sight off left to right . Then put the sight on your new 73 rifle right to left . Then take the Taurus Thunderbolt Rifle and use it for a Tomato stake in your back yard . This should fix the problem Good luck with what ever you decide to do with your Tomato stake !
Mustang Gregg Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 :FlagAm: Excuse me for getting off-topic----- So Taurus Thunderbolts work for tomato stakes? But what should a feller do with Taurus Gauchos? MG
The Polish Pistolero Posted March 19, 2014 Author Posted March 19, 2014 sounds like it needs a trip to Ohio to see Lassiter! Everybody with constructive suggestions say Lassiter! I guess I should personally know him, but I don't! How, who, where do I find info about getting ahold of him?

Rooster Ron Wayne Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 You plant them muzzle up and put flowers in the barrel. LOL +1
diablo slim Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 You plant them muzzle up and put flowers in the barrel. No Larsen...what do you use to drive the Tomato stake in with then...
Derby Crighton Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I have had that hiccup with my Taurus , & from memory if you are getting a lot of residue from the powder you are using , it can gunk up the tab so it doesn't reset correctly, letting the additional round past. I used Trail Boss in my 45 Colt and was getting this problem on the occassion, but a wipe down of the tab area each stage was enough. Annealing the case mouths to allow a better seal could help if the tab gunking up is your problem as well.
Buck Bisley Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Does my memory serve me correctly in seeing a post on the Taurus Lightning's that they had oversized chambers? Ah... I think I remember seeing it here: http://rvbprecision.com/shooting/colt-lightning-taurus-rebarrel-from-45lc-to-38wcf.html About half to 2/3rd's down the page.
