Cheatin Charlie
Weaver still makes bases for Mauser actions. Should be a lot of places to buy them. If you have a military rifle you will have to grind off the stripper clip guide. Somebody might make one that replaces the rear sight and use a long eye relief scope. I have drilled and tapped a few years back. Good luck Charlie

Charles B. Gatewood SASS #48517
Johnny, Did you check Cheaper than Dirt? Never bought anything from them, but I get catalogs every week and there are always Mauser parts in them. CBG
Garrison Joe, SASS #60708
Brownells for sure. Many of the scope mounts companies still make Mauser bases - it was their bread and butter for many years. Leupold, Warne, Redfield, Talley. You will need to know if you have a large ring or a small ring receiver where the barrel threads into the action, and if it is a "German" design Mauser (long action) or a Yugo short action (if you want to try to find a one piece base). Two piece bases are much more useful and common on the Mausers. Brownells has some measuring guides. Here's the guide that helps you select Weaver bases: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=11875/guntechdetail/Weaver_Top_Mount_Bases Weaver makes two styles for the front base. One is the standard base, and the other extends the base forward a couple-three inches to get you a more stable mount for larger, longer, heavier scopes. That "ext" base is what I would probably install. If action has not been drilled and tapped already, you have a slight bit more flexibility in fitting the bases. If they are already drilled, you can hope that they did a professional job of it and got the holes in standard locations. Oddnews SASS# 24779
For short eye-relief here: http://www.scopemounts.com/index.html?instapics.html For long eye-relief here: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/328552/b-square-military-weaver-style-scope-base-with-1-rings-mauser-98-matte These are all non-gunsmithing mounts that require no drilling or tapping. Guest Grass Range #51406
Drill and tap for a one-piece mount as a Redfield. Then you can always change to 2-pc Weaver style if you want and won't have to drill more holes in the receiver. You can bevel the underside (front of rear base) without recontouring the top of the rear receiver

Tom Bullweed
+1 on the B-Square. No gunsmithing. It replaces the rear sight. I mounted a previous version on a 6.5 Swede Mauser that worked very well. This will likely require an extended relief scope or rings that set the scope back towards the eye.
