Mean Matt McCord, SASS #24683
Ladies, for the first time ever, my wife might be coming to a match with me. There is a chance she will tag along for the GA state match in May. I would like to find (at the very least) a cowgirl-looking blouse for her to wear, but I will be needing something in the 4x to 5x range. Do any of y'all know of any good sources right off the top of your head? Thank you.
Nellie Blue #54399
So glad she will be attending with you. I sent you a PM with a couple of ideas.
Shamrock Sadie
I posed the question on the Doily Gang Facebook page. Dancin' Angel suggested this: "Recollections has plus sizes if that is what he is looking for. He can probably get in touch with Dutch & Brenda of gunpowder creek. They should be able to order whatever he might need." Hope this helps....might get other suggestions too.
Shamrock Sadie
Another cowgirl on the Doily Gang FB page suggested going to a Thrift Store and making modifications such as adding lace. There is another cowgirl that may have some items she could wear. I don't think your wife would care for you to post her size here on the Wire, so if you send me a private message with her size, I can let the cowgirl know. OR you can let me know your email address and I can have the cowgirl get in touch with you.

Shamrock Sadie
Yet another lady has items she doesn't need anymore. Looks like you hit the jackpot! I'll send a PM to you.
Mean Matt McCord, SASS #24683
This is a follow up: Catherine has found what she thinks is a good source for clothes, but we need help with the hat. We are both thinking of a ladies' low profile top/riding hat, with the lace train on it. If you rmember "Tombstone," kind of like the hat Dana Delany was wearing during the horseback riding scene with Kurt Russell. Anyone out there got any suggestions as to a good, relatively inexpensive source? Thank you.
Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217
Yeah Matt and Catherine! Wild West Mercantile as reasonably priced hats. https://www.wwmerc.com/cgi-bin/Category.cgi?category=6200&type=store They are mostly wool, straw, or fabric covered. I think Dana had on a top hat/riding hat. I love that style and have several. There are several ladies selling that style hat on eBay. Check out Old Mill Merchant. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Victorian-Regency-Edwardian-style-riding-dressage-hat-ladies-riding-hat-black-/281268160182 Here is a Victorian Hat link. http://www.ebay.com/sch/Hats-Headgear-/155349/i.html?_dcat=155349&Theme=Victorian She can narrow by color. Check out Ms. Purdy. She's a doll to deal with and will make changes. http://www.ebay.com/sch/ms.purdy/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= Calico Lassie is another doll. She even made me a custom hat to match a fashion plate I sent her. Her husband just passed away, so she may not have as much listed as usual. http://www.ebay.com/sch/frances*calicolassie/m.html?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEFSXS%3AMESOI&_trksid=p2053788.m1543.l2654 Happy Shopping!
