Subdeacon Joe
http://madworldnews.com/feinstein-proposes-common-sense-alcohol-control-bill/ " Feinstein and other supporters of the bill feel that by limiting theconsumption and capacity of alcoholic beverages we could save manylives, especially those of innocent children. Referencing thefrightening statistics where alcohol is involve in senseless deaths,Feinstein points out that the American public has the right to feel safefrom the dangers of alcohol and what people could do with it. Additional supporters, the majority of which are Democrats, go on toargue that the government can not depend on its citizens to use alcoholsafely and responsibly, stating further regulation is a must. Accordingto Feinstein, the safety of all is more important than the freedom ofthose that choose to be alcohol consumers. As expected, the constitutionality of the bill has been questioned. Feinstein states theTwenty First Amendment was never intended to give the average citizenthe right to consume what has now been termed assault beverages. Shefurther states, at the time of the amendment, Congress could not foreseethe degree to which alcohol and impaired driving would evolve into whatwe have today. Some of those that have opposed the bill statethey use alcohol to relax after a stressful day; however, Feinsteincounters their argument, stating Obamacare offers counseling services toassist with coping. Those stating that they use alcohol forrecreational purposes have been assured that the regulations within thebill do not prevent the safe and responsible recreational use ofalcohol." Link to comment
PaleWolf Brunelle, #2495L
Sure...voluntarily sign up for "counseling services" and get branded with a mental disability...they'd LOVE that as another excuse to register & seize our firearms. OR Declare alcoholism as a mental disease (e.g. drug addiction) and get put on the same "list". Someone tell them idjits to STFU & go away...PLEASE. (pardon my Anglais) Satire or not, I wouldn't be surprised by ANYthing coming from that bunch of bozos. Link to comment
Mud Marine,SASS#54686 Life
I am the "Marine for Life" volunteer for Northern Idaho and have quite a few guys with PTSD. Almost all of them are responsible citizens dealing with horrific experiences. None of them constitute a physical danger to anyone. Gun control types quite typically believe that they are intellectually superior to the hoi polloi and do not trust us witjh the good sense to handle our own lives. They believe that their superior knowledge in all matters requires that they regulate us. Socialism has an official colour, it is dismal grey. :-( Link to comment
Colonel Dan, SASS #24025
I read this carefully and cannot find any direct mention of guns, gun control or 2A. What am I missing here men? I believe I see what you are trying to convey in that government could replace "alcohol" with "guns" but let's stick to our primary mission of specifically addressing 2A related topics please. It's satire, Colonel."Feinstein Proposes Common Sense Alcohol Control Bill" Same types of laws she is pushing for guns, and with the exact same reasoning. I sometimes use the method when talking to antis to show the stupidity of their placing the blame on the tool rather than on the person. Do the laws they propose make sense if you change "gun" to "knife" or "car" or "alcohol?" If not, then why would they make sense when applied to guns? Every now and then it gets through. Sorta follows the reasoning here: For men of understanding do not say that the sword is to blame for murder, nor wine for drunkenness, nor strength for outrage, nor courage for foolhardiness, but they lay the blame on those who make an improper use of the gifts which have been bestowed upon them by God, and punish them accordingly. (St. John Chrysostom) Blame the person, not the tool. Link to comment
