Marlin Buckhorn,SASS 51727
Bought a non - running Polaris 330 Magnum ATV. I know, that is pretty dumb. Anyway when you start it and let it idle everything sounds great, you can even rev the engine. Put it in gear and start to move there is a "sharp clicking sound". Sound seems to remain constant and the speed of the clicking does not increase as the rpms or ground speed increase. Have taken the clutch cover off and their are no broken or unhooked springs or other such items loose in there. Doesn't seem to be a bearing or valve spring either. So I am looking for some help. I know it is not a real horse but I still need a vet. Any help is appreciated, Marlin(The Horseless)Buckhorn
Grizzly Dave
EE Taft used to wrench on those things a fair amount, I sent him a message on facebook alerting him to your post, hopefully he'll wander over and give some insight. The fact that the ticking is constant at any RPM and ground speed is interesting and hopefully a dead give away to someone who knows what they are talking about.
