a suggestion, when you vehemently disagree....

One friend advised me -

When promulgating your esoteric cogitations, or articulating your superficial sentimentalities, beware of platitudinous ponderosity.

I took that to heart!

And a friend told me:

"When heading thru a long dark tunnel and you notice the light at the end is approaching faster than the speed you are travelling.....its time to switch tracks".

Ya gotta love and cherish good friends....

Hi Friends,

The Moderators have been bashed for not censuring people, posts, and threads. Then, we get bashed for too much censuring. This is not black and white, there is much grey (judgment) involved. We are trying to ensure that the SASS Wire Guidelines are followed.

It is helpful to receive a report via the Report button on posts or PMs, as all Moderators have access to the Report Center. Sometimes we are away at events and will not see a message for a long while. This is not good if it is really bad, like Spam Porn, naughty language...

My opinion is that if a post reflects negatively on the people in our sport, our rules, the owners...it is best unsaid. You can disagree with the people, rules, and owners if you do it politely. I believe that all of you want our sport to grow. A pleasant, friendly disagreement is a better way of ensuring that growth than a rude, antagonistic argument.

We never know who may be reading the Wire and it is important to be as nice here as you are at a match.

Regards,

Allie Mo

PS Thank you PB for starting this thread. :)

Allie, I think you do a Fine Job............

When you feel that uncontrollable urge to seriously dish someone, don't do it on the wire, send a PM, OR wait until you see them in person!

I've been there, both ways. it works much better!

I couldn't agree more!

In 13 years of shooting this game it amazes me how much 'sniping' STILL goes on inside the SASS Wire.

Seems like we STILL have too many 'Pards' who pick fights thru a keyboard.

Grow up people.

Thete are some people who have difficulty controlling their emotions in heated discussions. These are the folks who need to just step away from the computer and cool down for a few minutes. Almost any of uscan fall int this category at times.

Then there are thpeople who don't mind upsetting others at all and in fact seem to enjoy it. They intentionally engage in protracted arguments and try to raise the blood pressure of others. I don't understand that type of personality but you can spot a few around here. They are vexations of the spirit and are best avoided.

Stay away from mathew, he'll put chu in a can!!

some say the wire isn't CAS, actually, I think it shows the real personaliities of our shooters, they're just on their best behavior at shoots....here they don't feel compeled to do so.

I don't necessarily think so - much of the time an 'internet' remark can be taken way differently than intended. One doesn't have the ability to read non-verbal expressions, hear fluctuations, and 'feel' the atmosphere - so REAL personalities don't really come across in most cases. FOR ME, this is part of the reason SASS is NOT the Wire and the Wire is NOT SASS. People put to much attention to 'virtual' life than 'REAL' life...just a thought. A number of folks that I had butted heads with on the Wire and then met personally ended up being positive and life long friendship.

and no I am not being 'vehement' about it :D^_^
