Subdeacon Joe
One of the more interesting shows on television is Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknownon CNN. Sunday was the season finale, where host Bourdain traveled toDetroit to explore the food and culture. After the episode — “The LastBite” — Bourdain gathered with friends in a Las Vegas bar to discuss theseason, which included a segment filmed in New Mexico that featured“gun culture.” CNN host Don Lemon joined Bourdain, along with Roy Choi(author of L.A. Son) and actor Wendell Pierce. Bourdain, an avowed “New York lefty,” admitted that he likes guns and expressed his respect for American gun owners: These people in the segment, as many people in red stateAmerica — in gun country America — these are nice people. They likeguns. As a matter of fact, I’ve gotta admit, I like guns. I like holdingguns. I like shooting guns. He explained more in a blog post about the New Mexico episode: In New York, where I live, the appearance of agun—anywhere—is a cause for immediate and extreme alarm. Yet, in much ofAmerica, I have come to find, it’s perfectly normal. I’ve walked manytimes into bars in Missouri, Nevada, Texas, where absolutely everyone ispacking. I’ve sat down many times to dinner in perfectly nice familyhomes where—at end of dinner—Mom swings open the gun locker and invitesus all to step into the back yard and pot some beer cans. That may notbe Piers Morgan’s idea of normal. It may not be yours. But that’s afacet of American life that’s unlikely to change. Link to comment

Mud Marine,SASS#54686 Life
Sounds like Boundary County, Idaho on the BC border. The young boys and girls here all yearn for their first elk. I do not have a single friend that does not pack at all times. Idaho is, What America was! Link to comment
Buckhorn Bud
Around our house if you don't know what to get someone for Christmas you can be pretty sure they'll appreciate a box or two of ammo. Shelly 9mm, Joe 20g, Debbi .38 sp, Bud 12g, Rory .22..... Link to comment
Mud Marine,SASS#54686 Life
Both of my adult sons requested Tipton Jag and brush sets for Christmas. One is in the Twin Cities and the other is in Orlando. My Thanksgiving contribution to my MN son and his family is to do a little work on some of their guns! :-) After Christmas, my eldest and his family are going to the Florida SASS Championship and the Mensa Florida Annual Gathering and my little granddaughter will attend the K-12 Chess Championship at Disney World. Have a nice day egg headed lefty pseudo intellectuals! :-) Link to comment

Did you catch the episode of his visit to Mr. Nugent? And the HUGE .. um...Stuff Eating Grin he got when he fired full auto? The guy is a gun nut at heart, but is too much of an effete elitist to let go and revel in it. Link to comment
Col. Nathan C. Riddles, SASS # 7462
Mr. Bourdain is a fibber. In Texas it is a felony to carry a handgun into any establishment that earns more than 51% of it profit from the sale of alchohol Link to comment
