Trigger Mike Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 I made sure of my load today and hope to hunt deer during primitive weapons season. How much damage will it do to the meat?
Trigger Mike Posted October 10, 2013 Author Posted October 10, 2013 good. thanks. this is the first year I could do it with a musket
Subdeacon Joe Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Less than a 12 ga. slug, that's for sure. Likely less than any of the flavors of .300 magnum hollow points, too.
Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 TM most times , ya can , eat right up to the HOLE , with a B/P gun if you get a bunch of Blood Shocked meat , put it in a Cooler with icey salt brine , this will pull most of the blood out I will let a deer , age like this for 2 or 3 days , keeping it covered with ice even if there is not any shocked meat it will pull some of the wild taste out of an older buck , the girls , prefer the meat done this way CB
BLACKFOOT SASS #11947 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I have used the ice/water slurry to "age" venison several times. It works great. Lafitte
