Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
I found a way to make an indicator using some egg yarn, and a piece of rubber surgical tubing. Cut off about 1/4 inch of the tubing and about 2 inches of yarn. Double the leader into a small loop but not enough to crimp the leader. Put it doubled through the small rubber tube. insert the yarn into the loop of leader and pull it through the rubber piece. Forms a tight hold on the leader and does not crimp it. TRIM THE YARN TO THE SIZE YOU WANT. To reclaim the line, just reverse the process.
Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001
BMC the little CORKIES ? , use the same kind of attachment , they attach in line therefore are easier to cast for me anyway I have used regular yarn , with a bit of dry fly dressing rubbed in to it , just tyed around the leader I have found it is better to 1/2 hitch it and cut to size , before adding the dressing CB
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
The one I outlined is reusable and can be moved up and down the leader without affecting the line. Corkies can be used but some guys use a toothpick to stake them on the line. It is also a gear fishing trick. Keeps the hook off the bottom and in the strike zone.
