Wonder what she was sitting on the stairs with her Glock near the end of the show?

Posted

I would sure like to see the affidavit for the search warrant. Victim's neck was broken, therefore no weapon, Longmire admits he went to Denver, therefore no credit card receipts etc. Sheriff's records? What a reach!

Wow!

I mean WOW!

:) :)

Gorsky left the note to Vic saying 'see you soon' that could be why she was waiting at the door.

Or maybe she was hoping a door to door gun salesman would come by so she could trade off the Glock on something better... :D

There were several procedural errors in tonight's show that just distracted the bejabbers out of me. Actually interfered with me enjoying the show to a small degree. Yes, I know it's Hollyweird, but still, don't they have a technical advisor? And, yeah, Bad Hand, the search warrants bothered me, too. Gotta admit I was hollering at the TV! :)

What bugged me was the search warrants pretty much shut down the Sheriff's office. That's not gonna happen. is it?? Anyone in LE know the answer to that? What a stretch but it is still the best show on TV, well....tied with Hell on Wheels! :)

Uncle Spiteful hates cliffhangers.

That being said, I wish they would go back to the Craig Johnson feel for the series. Way too many subplots for this old fart to keep up with.

PC, warrants, evidentiary rules, crime elements, etc, are always weak points in TV dramas. I've grown accustomed to limiting myself to one, "That ain't right" outburst per show, makes my wife happier. I just go with the flow of the story. Unless it isn't well written and acted.

It isn't easy though. ;)

Had the murder of Longmire's wife pinned on no less than 3 people during the show....blame sure is shifted fast in that episode. I have a comparison about blame shifting and Washington DC but I'll be nice

A search warrant is a search warrant. Makes no difference what the location is as long as it's within reason. A 100 officer department, maybe not completely shut down. A 4 person department, oh yeah.

Posted

Maybe so, and maybe I am wrong but isn't the scope of the warrant very specific? Or is 'he could have written a note' good enough to seize all the files?

Posted

Generally a search warrant has to state what is being sought and why it is thought to be on the premises specified in the warrant. Theoretically, if you are looking for a bread box-sized object, you can't go looking in desk drawers or shoeboxes.

Really liked this show last season. Was not too impressed with a few episodes earlier this season. This last one,as the young people say, was - - bad ass!! (Pardon my French to all the ladies in the Saloon.)

If the search warrant is for a crime scene, the wording "Hair, blood, fibers, and any other evidence leading to the identity of the perpetrator" let me search pretty much anywhere I wanted. Now as far as the search warrants in Longmire I don't have a clue what the detective swore to to get all those warrants but since he had no probable cause anything found would certainly not be admissible in court..................except on TV. ;)

I taught search warrants, been over HollyWierd PC for many over 20 years. Now, back to the show. Walt going back to Denver, maybe, he'll have to find the killer of the killer of his wife and show stupid Detective how it's done. I think the person who hired this killer maybe someone main character on the show. Maybe, someone that wants to be rid of Walt that will not do it himself, coward but bright enough to keep killing folks that get close to knowing it is him. Sound familiar to our recent case involving Walt's daughter? And the guy who done it, may also be a character we have seen several times on the reservation, maybe. Cannot believe Branch was dumb enough not to think someone with a gun would be watching for him to show up. Same guy as who hired Walt's wife killer? Maybe, stay tune and stay alive for 9 months to find out! :(;)

Turning the Denver detective into an Al Sharpton wannabe was an "interesting" touch!! By revealing some new information they've made the suspense even more palpable.

This one episode did rip apart a 4 person department. 1 with multiple gunshots (I knew something would happen, didn't expect him to get shot), 1temporarily removed from active duty, the Sheriff under suspicion, that only leaves poor old Ferg to run the county with Ruby.

I agree, thinking of the Dog Soldier that has shown up a couple of times and could be who shot Branch too.

Blackwater, you're right, they did a interesting change on the good old boy detective from Denver.

9 months is going to be a long wait.

The people at the network have not said it was picked up for season 3 yet. What's wrong with them?? They have a proven winner here!

I think it's time to tie Jacob Knighthorse to a tree and cover him with Flank Steak! I suspect we'll discover that he ordered Mrs. Longmire's death because of her public opposition to his casino. ;)

UB, it's a hit here on the saloon but I've talked to a lot of people that don't know about it. It's all about the ratings and the almighty $$$!

I'm going to be "mired" in suspense for a "long" time waiting for for the premiere the new season!

Rye! Are we related? We're both good lookin! And, my last name is Miles!

I just hope they show this last show of the season right before the start of next year. I just know how my memory is getting. What I say?

CBS did it with Jericho several years ago, and left Big Brother on in it's place. IDIOTS!

You may be related to the "real" Rye Miles. Sgt. J.T. "Rye" Miles Arizona Ranger 1907, Sheriff of Tucson, Constable of Benson and Arizona Prison guard. He was born in Texas and was a cowboy before he went into LE.
