.32-20 Primers

Most of the reloading data states to use small rifle primers in the .32-20 (.32WCF). I have done so for a number of years. Now I have an excess of small pistol primers.

Any cowboys use pistol primers in their .32-20s?

I am shooting original Win 1873 and Colt Lightning. No pistols. Loads are medium loads with W-231 and 115 grain bullets.

Thanks. I just sold my last Uberti 1873 in .38/.357 and have no plans to buy another. This means that I can now use that stash for my more favored .32-20s. I agree that it is a very cool round.

Not only are they "just fine," they're preferred. 32-20's are what I shoot; been shooting them for more than ten years. Same load in pistol and rifle ('66), all with small pistol primers. Never had a hiccup. Long time ago, I read an article on this topic by Venturino, and that's what he said to do.
