Chili Ron
Howdy, I don't know, maybe things change or that pard is on vacation?? Maybe he didn't want a gun discussion in a saloon..har har. All our posts are at approval of the SASS moderators. If one of them has a bad day.... I sure have no problem with what I have read posted by you. I just would like to stay on topic, that's all. With any carry gun my first choice would be any ammo labeled personal defense. If it ever went to court I would just say I was using what was recommended. Jerkline Jesse, SASS #64073
I like autos. Modern autos are reliable. They're thinner, and easier to reload. Depending on which action type you choose, may have a better trigger than a DA auto. Lots of people these days are raving about the single stack subcompact versions of the major polymer guns, such as the XDs, and M&P Shield. Personally, I've got so many thousands of rounds down range with single actions, that I prefer them to double action or striker fired triggers. Hence, I'm partial to 1911s. With a government model, or combat (steel framed) commander, I'd pick .45 ACP. With a lightweight commander, I prefer a .38 Super. If that's still too big, Sig makes their copy of the Colt Mustang, called a P238, which is something like a baby 1911, in .380 ACP. For me, the LW Commander, .38 Super, in a Milt Sparks Versa-Max II IWB is probably close to perfect. Even in the summer, I can hide it under a snap front western shirt, open and untucked, or snapped up and tucked in, using the J-hook straps.
