What's the call? purely hypothetical

Recommended Posts

stage calls for rifle, engage each target at least twice,,, there are 4 targets and ten rounds.....

shooter engages target 1-2 times, target 2- 4 times, target 3- 4 times, realizes he's shot ten rounds, but then engages target 4 two times with empty gun....

he engaged all four targets at least twice.....

what's the call?

It has been stated by a much more experienced cowboy on this wire that says you can pont your finger at the target, holler BANG and you have engaged the target.

Just to help ya stir the pot CC; on the assumption that you can engage with an empty rifle, he gets 2 misses for shots 11 and 12. Its obvious that he didn't hit target 4......AND gets a P because the stage says to engage for 10 rounds NOT 12.......not following stage instructions

2 misses and a P

Miss – a failure to hit the appropriate target type using the appropriate firearm type.

He hit 10 of the correct target types. He failed the stage instructions. P

seriously, CC.... "P".... What else could it be? He hit all the rifle targets with rounds. He coulda shot 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4 or any other combo that didn't get 2 on each and got the same call.....as long as he hit rifle targets... it's just a "P" as if 10 seconds isn't enough to ruin your day.

Heck. Give it to him. CLEAN.

I mean really. Why not. :o

We have taken benefit of dough to a point

that everyone is afraid to call anything anymore.

Or if they do. Someone

pulls out a lawyer book to argue it. :(

Anyone that would say that is not an experienced shooter.

CC

"Engaged" is defined (p. 29, ROI) as attempting to fire a round at a target. Respectfully, a shooter cannot "engage" a target with a rifle he knows has no rounds in it.

Point your finger and go bang? Great idea for saving ammo. ......... Shooter gets a P for certain, plus any misses he might have had in the first ten rounds (the ones with real bullets). OP only says engaged with no mention of hits or misses.
