Subdeacon Joe Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 And means it. Lexington, SC (WLTX) - Imagine walking down the street, you look upand you see a tank. Only you're not in a war zone, you're right here inthe Midlands. "I wasn't like the person that would want a sedan," said Lee Cato. Every teenager falls in love with their first car. Lee Cato's is aheavy duty truck, but her true loves are military planes and vehicles. "I couldn't own a plane, but I saw that people owned tanks. So I started looking into it and I said dad I want a tank." Naturally her father was skeptical...but the two found a M29 Weaselin Idaho last year. But Cato wasn't satisfied with a small militaryvehicle; she wanted more. "We went over to UK, Germany, Czech Republic and France." They searched near and far and she finally met her true love, a 1984 Armed Personal Carrier tank that she calls "Sammie." "It was actually a graduation gift from high school." Being a 19-year-old with a tank just opens the door for the ultimate ice breaker in any conversation. "I've gotten some pretty strange reactions. Normally repeat that again! What's that?" Despite it's intimidating size the tank doesn't have any weapons on it.
Charlie Harley, #14153 Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Sorta cool, but mostly it looks like a rich daddy in the construction industry is buying big toys for his little girl. I think she needs to enlist with Uncle Sam and she can fulfill all her desires to drive real military vehicles.
Utah Bob #35998 Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 "Armed Personal Carrier".....sheesh. But I think it's cool that she's found something she's passionate about. If I had her daddy's money, I'd have a hangar sized man cave with a Sherman, a Grant, a Stuart, an M113, a half track, a gun jeep, etc etc.

Utah Bob #35998 Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 That's a PT 76. Piece of junk.Mebbe so, but an innovative vehicle for it's time. If somebody offered me one, I wouldn't turn it down. Can't imagine the red tape and shipping costs! I could use that weasel here in the winter.
