Yeah, the idjit is from the San Francisco Bay Area.

 

In a recent statement, Rep. Jackie Speier (pictured, majestically in
front of a nice, fake ocean backdrop), says she will pursue legislation
that will make it illegal to sell or buy any gun that can be fired by a 5
year old child.

particular, the Child Handgun Safety Act would require that all handguns
manufactured, sold in, or imported into the United States to incorporate
technology that precludes the average 5-year-old child from operating a handgun
when it is ready to fire. The Act would also require any handgun sold, offered
for sale, traded, transferred, shipped, leased, or distributed in the U.S. two
years after enactment to be child-resistant or retrofitted with a
child-resistant mechanism. The Child Handgun Safety Act is supported by the
Brady Campaign and the Violence Policy Center.

considering the number of already existing guns.

 

The problem is not the guns....They aint broke and don't need fixing or modifying or re-engineering.

 

"Children" 5 years and older ought to be being taught how to safely handle ANY firearm., if not at home then as soon

as they get into grade school, public or private.

Don't most all new guns ship with a lock of some kind with it now a days?

 

Either a trigger lock, cable lock, or like my Taurus and my NMV, a little lock on the gun that prevents it from being fired.

 

In a locked condition, it cannot be fired by nobody!

 

For that matter, does a safety suffice?

 

In any case, just because this stuff ships with the gun, does not mean the purchaser is smart enough to use it...
