Subdeacon Joe Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 http://www.kaaltv.com/article/stories/S3089857.shtml?cat=10218 Bud was the B-29 Crew Chief in World War II. His gravestone is etched with a B-29 and the words "Flying For Freedom." His urn was donated by the Confederate Air force. "They have the only flying B-29 in the world and it ended up theydonated a piston from the B2-9 Fifi to be used as my dad's urn," said Bud's son David Lonergan who currently lives in Arizona. To honor their father in this unique way, Bud's family came all the way to Osage from three different states.
Subdeacon Joe Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Umm... cylinder? Pretty cool. I had the same thought, but I bet the pistons for those big radial engines have plenty of space in them for the cremains.
Big Jake1001 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 It's some kind of cylinder urn topped with a Piston from a B-29. Has a handle running through where the Pin would have been. The Piston had some engraving on it. Jake
