Driftwood Johnson, SASS #38283
Howdy Mike I've been lazy the last couple of years and have been buying my Black Powder bullets. When I was casting I only did it once a year because I had to completely reconfigure the whole basement. I would spend the best part of a Saturday, or maybe even the best part of both Saturday and Sunday on a cool fall weekend casting. Went through about 40 - 60 pounds of lead. I can't remember exactly, at the most I would probably cast a couple of thousand in the weekend, enough to last all year.
Matthew Duncan
I was just wondering, for the rest of you who cast your own bullets, how many do you typically cast in a season? Until I run out of lead. About 2,000.
Runamuck, SASS #49216L
I usually cast 30 - 40 lbs at a sitting before I loose interest. Last session two weeks ago cast 42 lbs of .38 125's, almost 2400 bullets. I use a 20 lb bottom pour pot and six cavity mold.
