Anyone shooting a .41 Colt?

My local gunshop has a horde of .41 Colts that are calling my name. Any cowboys out there reload and shoot this cartridge?

It seems that the rounds require hollowbase bullets at .386" diameter that will open up, Minie style, to fill the .402 bore. The chamber and brass cannot open up enough to use .401 bullets used in .38-40.

Telling me that this will be difficult to load may steer me away or my just make this a challenge that has to be taken.

If they are Real Colts and in good shooting shape....buy 'em. You can always buy a First Gen cylinder in 38-40 (.38 WCF) and shoot the gun.

I reload 17 different calibers, but would not try the .41 Long Colt because of the heel-based bullet. Why make it hard on yourself, unless you want to.

I would like to know about the Colts condition, price and year of mfg. If you do or don't buy any...please pass on some info via a P.M. Thanks
