Taylor's & Co .31 Remington Pocket Revolver

Oops...In the video I say this gun is made by Uberti, but it is actually made by Pietta. My apologies. In 1865, with the civilian market for big bore swamped with surplus Civil War handguns, Remington developed a pocket-sized .31 caliber revolver for the concealed carry market. Today Taylor's & Company in Winchester, Virginia offers a replica of this little pistol, made by Pietta in Italy. In this video I'll put it through its paces in both cap & ball mode, and with the optional cartridge conversion cylinder chambered for .32 S&W cartridges.

Mike,

Enjoy your videos immensely. How's the Bucks County rifle coming along?

I am considering a Jeager, Jaeger transitional or Early Virginian from TOW or TVM in .58 rifled or .62 rifled

Dan, The Bucks County Rifle is coming along well, but slowly. I just fitted the butt plate. I did it, was 95% satisfied, then I did it all over again this weekend. Now I'm 100% satisfied.

Next I'll start working on the forestock. Someday I might even finish it.

After watching your videos, I have concluded these rifles are the absolute best bargain of any firearm to be found, given the level of time and skill required. Still, I want to try to "assemble" one. Maybe NW trade gun to start.....

Best of luck. Will be following your progress.

Nice video. I always enjoy your reports and videos. I did notice that the barrel is stamped with "BLOCK POWDER ONLY" but when you used the conversion cylinder, the .32 cartridges that you shot appeared to be using smokeless propellant. Is that true and can you use smokeless?
