PBS poll - What should Congress do about gun control?

The results are the opposite of what the anti gun crowd is telling the public in their talking points and speeches.

What should Congress do about gun control?
  • Leave federal gun laws as they are (95%, 31,231 Votes)
  • Expand background checks, ban assault weapons and limit the capacity of magazines (3%, 863 Votes)
  • Only expand background checks (2%, 780 Votes)

  • Only expand background checks (2%, 284 Votes)

Are any of us surprised with the results?

The surprise is that PBS would put the results up at all.

At every opportuity, EVERY member on the US Congress should be asked

if they took the oath upon entering office that they would support and defend the

Constitution of the United States of America...against all enemies, foregn and domestic.

 

(And this goes for every press conference the president holds as well..the "press" should Ask him this direct:)

If the answer is "yes", then they/he should then be immediately asked this question:

 

Why then are you NOT supporting the people's right to keep and bear arms as

defined in the Second amendment to that Constituton?

 

See what they say, and then (you and everybody you know) vote accordingly at

the next election opportunity.

And they would hem and haw, and cite Heller and the reasonable restriction mentioned in that decision - while ignoring the "in common use" language in both Heller and Miller.
