Authorities believe they have identified a suspect from
video footage in the Boston Marathon bombings, Reuters reported
Wednesday. An arrest is imminent, according to the AP.

The FBI is holding a press conference at 5 p.m. and is expected to announce the news then. CNN reported that the breakthrough in the investigation came from analyzing department store surveillance video and video from a news station.

The Boston Globe reported that officials have found an image of "a suspect carrying, and perhaps dropping, a black bag at the second bombing scene."

Boston news station WCVB-TV is reporting via Twitter that an arrest is, "imminent or has already taken place."

An FBI spokesman in Boston and a spokeswoman for Boston Mayor Tom Menino declined to comment on the reports to Yahoo News.

I just hope he's the right guy. I still feel bad for the security cop they put through the wringer over the blast at the Atlanta Olympics. There was such a rush to get somebody that they forgot about basic rules of evidence, law, and human decency.

I really, really hope he's not American.

If he's the one, he is not. Regardless of his country of origin.

He is simply inhuman scum.

(CNN) -- [breaking news update at 2:36 p.m. Wednesday]

There is conflicting information as to whether someone has been arrested in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings. A federal law enforcement source told CNN's Fran Townsend that someone was arrested. But later, two senior administration officials and another federal official told Townsend that there had been a misunderstanding among officials and that no one has been arrested.

Looks like CNN and Fox need to check their sources a little closer.

As usual.

That's the whole problem with media today. Different sources say different things and the media runs with it. Same thing happened at the beginning of Sandy Hook.

First the AR was in the trunk then it was a Saiga shotgun in the trunk. Then the rifles were in Lanza's bedroom then warrant said they were in the safe.

No one will know for sure til investigation is done.

After the Olympic park bombing in 1996, I hope the FBI gets all the facts before they throw some poor guy to the press. Richard Jewell was doing what he was trained to do and saved a lot of lives. The FBI found him to be a convenient patsy. Yes, they eventually got the right guy but it sure messed up Richard Jewell's life.

Apropos of absolutely nothing, Piers Morgan is truly an insufferable ?r!ck.

Are you sure he can't be deported simply on those grounds alone?
