A thought to ponder....

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

It is an abbreviated portion of a speech made in 1838, years before the Civil War.

"All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years."

"At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."

I've always thought that Lincoln's mind was amazing and his ability to convey his thoughts was beyond amazing.

James Madison -

In time of actual war, great discretionary powers are constantly given to the Executive Magistrate. Constant apprehension of War, has the same tendency to render the head too large for the body. A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defence against foreign danger have been always the instruments of tyranny at home. Among the Romans it was a standing maxim to excite a war, whenever a revolt was apprehended. Throughout all Europe, the armies kept up under the pretext of defending, have enslaved the people.

The 2nd Amendment is the means to stop tyranny. This is why it is under constant attack, without it all else is futile. Although, I believe the Founding Fathers envisioned the citizens with the same arms as the military. It took two murders in 1968 to create the 1968 Gun Control Act which passed in 1969. It was suppose to be the be all end all. It is the first step toward suicide of this country. Second step was freeing the institutionalized (mentally ill). I don't know the third step.

I'm still trying to figure out which of the Freedoms we haven't lost.

We can't own our land. or home.

We handed over control of our children, their minds, and hearts to federal school system long ago. Our secondary educational system seems to exist to mold our people to serving the collective.

We aren't allowed to have/use religious language, pictures, or objects in or around any location deemed to belong to the public or government even though the buildings of those that truly built them all give homage to God.

The powers vested to the community have been usurped by the central government.

Our society consists of an elite group of those that govern living under a set of laws made for themselves by themselves that are different than the laws existing for the governed much as in the master and servant or lord and serf.

Our health decisions are no longer our own, but are at the bidding of the politician.

With private physicians no longer being private, it sets the precedent for the central power to make all employment decisions.

It's no longer OUR fruit of labor, but rather our labor and the fruit belongs to the township, city, county, state, and federal buracracy. And further they have convinced us that we should happily give all that we have to those that know best how to use it for our benefit.

There are places in our country where we are not free to partake of our own diet.

....and probably the biggest loss of freedom is the very Right to Life of those living, viable, but unborn humans that aren't able to speak for themselves.

You may not like these words and they may be stripped from this medium, but that does not in any way change their truth!
