The left uses the big city police chiefs who serve at the pleasure of the mayors, as shills. Note that in any Democrat photo op with LE in the background you rarely see county sheriffs who are elected and accountable only to their constituents. They are overwhelmingly opposed to gun control legislation as are most rank and file officers. Link to comment

Billy Bristol Posted April 10, 2013 Share Posted April 10, 2013 Those that are not elected are afraid of getting fired if they don't go along with the mayors and governors. Those that are elected realize that someone with a firearm at home has a better chance against a criminal because of the response time for a local LEO to get there. Let's face it. A lot can happen in just a few minutes. Just looking at Sandy Hook you can see how much Lanza was able to do in such a short time before police arrived. Imagine just a few home alone and an armed criminal breaks in. Without a firearm in the home there is no chance at all. And the criminal can always get a firearm! Link to comment
