Chantry
We got screwed. Now we move on to fighting in the courts. http://www.cga.ct.gov/2013/TOB/S/2013SB-01160-R00-SB.htm We called, we e-mailed, we testified verbally & in writing at hearings and none of it seems to have made a difference. Unfortunately I doubt more the 5% of the gunowners here did anything. It's never been Republican vs Democrat when it comes to gun rights here in CT since the Democrats have enough of a majority to pass anything they want, but some of the Democrats in this state stood by gun owners. On the other hand the Republican leadership worked hand in hand with the Democratic leadership to write the bill. Senate 26-10: of the nays 2 Democrats & 8 Republicans voted againstthe bill; 6 Republicans voted FOR the bill. House 103-46: of the nays 14 Democrats & 32 Republicans voted against the bill; 19 Republicans voted for the bill. Some of those people that voted for SB1160 were A rated by the NRA prior to this. My two: Sen Doyle-D had an A rating Rep Carpino-R had at least a B+ rating Link to comment
