Chantry
Now we move on to fighting in the courts. http://www.cga.ct.gov/2013/TOB/S/2013SB-01160-R00-SB.htm We called, we e-mailed, we testified verbally & in writing at hearings and none of it seems to have made a difference. Unfortunately I doubt more the 5% of the gunowners here did anything. It's never been Republican vs Democrat when it comes to gun rights here in CT since the Democrats have enough of a majority to pass anything they want, but some of the Democrats in this state stood by gun owners. On the other hand the Republican leadership worked hand in hand with the Democratic leadership to write the bill. Senate 26-10: of the nays 2 Democrats & 8 Republicans voted againstthe bill; 6 Republicans voted FOR the bill. House 103-46: of the nays 14 Democrats & 32 Republicans voted against the bill; 19 Republicans voted for the bill. Some of those people that voted for SB1160 were A rated by the NRA prior to this. My two: Sen Doyle-D had an A rating Rep Carpino-R had at least a B+ rating Link to comment
Six-Shot
Chantry, get "new blood" to run for legislative seats in 2014 or run yourself. I did. Even though I lost I'm going to run again. I'll run every election until I win a seat or I die (whichever comes first). Make a list of all those who voted for gun control legislation and publish it and then use it in your campaign literature. Regain the majority in the legislature and repeal the laws. That's what we did in NH in 2010. That's what we will do again. I personally know 100+/- NH gunowners and I saw/heard from 8 or 10 at the most. It's our own damned fault if we lose our liberties and rights. Tell gunowners you know that if "they are not part of the solution, they are part of the problem"! Link to comment
