Constable Nelson #11784
Yes.. but both the FIAT and the Regginae only looked good AFTER the Germans provided the DB engines.... prior to that all the italian fighters had REALLY ugly front ends because of the originally fitted radial engines (which is all the Italian designers had to work with) Ever see the version of the Lysander with the tail mounted turret (the p.12)??? Never went in to production.. but an interesting idea! (Yes.. VERY "homely" indeed!) As to "uglifying" aircraft... better not throw stones when living in a glass house!!! Where to start... the B10? The XF-85 Goblin? The X-32?
