Deacon Stone Sass#58681
So if a guy was to use the new slickshot nipples on there Ruger Old Armys. They say you can reduce the hammer spring. The standered hammer spring for ROA is 25 pounds. What pound of spring have you found to be able to get by with?? And like I say if I was to use slick nipples and thats a big if. Tersco nipples have worked great for over a year now, I hate to change what works. Any ideas and what works for you???? Deacon Stone

Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
If you go to the Brownells website you will find a spring kit for the ROA. They use a 19# spring. I had those springs in my ROAs for years with Tresos and had no problems. (The guns were tuned so they worked well with the 19# springs.) This spring should work equally well with the Slix Shotz nipples. I was feeling charitable this morning so I found if for you. http://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/slide-firing-parts/multiple-spring-kits/rsa-108-spring-kit-for-old-army-old-model-ruger-single-action-prod26253.aspx
