Unconvinced of the conspiracy to:

A. Deny us ammo by buying it all up

B. Raising a brownshirt army to attack us in a Crystallnacht for gun owners

C. Cover up the alienncrash at Roswell

(okay I may be wrong about C);)

I don't believe any of that stuff either. The potential of an economic collapse and having the ammunition and resources to quell civil unrest is a real possibility.

This has always been my thinking. But take it a step further. I have an Army buddy who works at Fort George Meade, Maryland (NSA). We have had some interesting discussions in the past six months. Imagine an overnight foreign source cyber attack where millions of American bank accounts are drained of funds. The chaos from this for weeks would be unbelievable. No debit cards working at the gas station, grocery store, etc. It would take weeks for the government working with the financial institutions trying to replace those funds.

This could result in serious civil unrest and the government would use their new paramilitary DHS personnel, along with local law enforcement to keep the lid on things. This would not be a good time to be living in a large city.

THO, that's my thinking too. No terrorist attack could be more devaststating than if they ever figure out a way to disrupt cyber systems, because nothing works anymore without it. Most folks don't have enough food, gas, etc. to make it very long if they can't go buy some more. And if your young'un's hungry, most folks will do whatever is necessary to feed them. The government would try to quell civil unrest because there's no way they could be everywhere with food and supplies for the masses. And I ain't even got a tinfoil hat, although I've been considering buying one....

Perhaps I'm an optimist. Our republic and democratic government have been faced with and survived many challenges that would have destroyed other countries. Our civil war, the great depression, the "Commie Hunts" of the 50's, the asassination of John Kennedy, the Viet Nam War protests, the impeachment and resignation of Richard Nixon, the impeachment of Bill Clinton, and the fanancial collapse of 2008. The Amercian people have pulled together, helped each other, and survived. Our intellignence agencies and other gov't officials have anticipated the cyber-attack scenario. We are a resiliant and resourcefull people.

There are those out there who believe in the government conspiracies to order the police and/or military to violate our civil and constitutional rights, or the secret agreement with the Canadian Government to come across the border to confiscate out firemarms.

I don't
