Judson T. Oakley
Does anyone have a recommendation on lightening the hammer spring on a bond derringer. Mine is the .38 special cowboy defender.
Ace_of_Hearts
Does anyone have a recommendation on lightening the hammer spring on a bond derringer. Mine is the .38 special cowboy defender. If you call Bond, they have competition springs in stock they will sell you.
Doc Fill 'Em 67797
Magic Springs by Seven also carries a lightened spring for the Bond. I have one in mine and it works great.
The Original Lumpy Gritz
Cut down 1911 hammer spring works real well. LG
DOCBRAZOS, SASS#18033L
since I don't use mine for personal defense I just cut the stock spring (one coil at a time) worst case is you start to get failures to fire then you can get a replacement. Hondo Tucker
I called Bond Arms for a compitition spring in my Snake Slayer. Got the girlfriend a Bond Girl last week. All of their new production has only the compitition springs in them now. The guy at Bond explained some other changes to the trigger shape that helps with the geometry of cocking and trigger pull. They are great, we love ours!!
Judson T. Oakley
Great feedback. Can I also get a little instruction on replacing the spring. I do some gunsmith ing on my cowboy guns but not sure how to change this spring. Thanks
Hondo Tucker
Kinda like changing a Ruger spring only easier. Pop off the grip and bump the bottom of the spring out of the groove. Put the new one in, hopefully without shooting it across the room.
