Cavhacc
Hello All, I am new to the forum but not the sport. My question is: does anyone know the SASS legality for the Beacher pivoting front globe sight for 45-70 side matches? It is a post CW front sight and pre 20th century. I woult like to affix it to my H&R for shoots but do not want to be disqualified for improper hardware. My rear sight is an original 1871 trap door rear sight. Any guidance out there? John Boy
http://www.trackofthewolf.com/Categories/PartDetail.aspx/874/1/FS-DP-BEACH Cavhacc, for starters, the name of the sight is a Beach Sight. Yes, it is SASS legal, 100% period correct and perfect for 45-70 side matches shooting steel I have several on different rifles and the only issue is if one is shooting under 300yds, the pin head diopter is too big for exact precision shooting on paper targets. An alternative is a Lyman 17A globe sight with multiple inserts
